What changes when you travel with a specialist

One name for the whole trip

Visa, flights and itinerary coordinated together, so nothing falls between three different vendors. Bluedust’s visa service is available even if you book the trip elsewhere.

Private, never a coach

Your own vehicle and guide, your own dates. The day bends around a tired child or a grandparent who wants a longer lunch.

Help in Japan, in your language

Our Ninja Helpdesk is a team member who lives in Japan, not a call centre at home. Missed train or hotel mix-up, you can call in Hindi or Gujarati.

Vegetarian and Jain travel, done properly

Japan is hard to eat in without local knowledge. Dashi, a fish stock, is in many dishes that look vegetarian, and menus rarely say so.

How we plan meals

We research restaurants along your route and book ahead where we can, briefing them on what you don’t eat, including Jain requirements such as no onion, garlic or root vegetables.

On guided days your guide helps with ordering, and our team in Japan can step in by phone when there’s a question at the table.

Choice is wide in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and much narrower in rural Japan. We tell you honestly where it gets difficult before you book, so there are no surprises at the table.

A country we’ve actually walked

Before Bluedust, Varun spent years in Jet Airways ground operations at Ahmedabad airport. Then he travelled Japan himself, from Tokyo to Nagasaki, including the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage trail.

That’s why our itineraries read differently. When we suggest a train, a temple or a lunch stop, it’s because someone on the team has stood there and knows whether it suits your family.

Straight answers

The questions families ask us most before they book.

How much does a Japan trip from India cost?

Private Bluedust itineraries start from around ₹2.45L per person for a classic eight or nine day trip. The price moves with season, hotel category and group size. Flights and visa can be quoted separately or bundled.

Is a private trip worth it compared with a group tour?

A private trip runs on your dates and your pace, with your own vehicle and guide. You pay more than a seat on a coach, and in return nobody waits for strangers, the day bends around children or grandparents, and meals are planned for your diet.

Can we change the itinerary?

Yes. Every itinerary on this site is a starting point. Dates, pace, hotels and inclusions are adjusted with you before anything is confirmed.

Do Indian citizens need a visa for Japan?

Yes. Bluedust handles the visa process end to end: documents, appointment and follow-up. You can use the visa service even without booking a trip. The decision itself rests with the Embassy of Japan, so no agency can guarantee approval.

Can vegetarian and Jain meals really be arranged?

Japan is hard without local knowledge, because dashi (fish stock) is in many dishes and menus are rarely labelled. We plan meals in advance and brief restaurants on Jain requirements. Options are narrower in rural areas, and we tell you that before you book.

Is Japan suitable for children and senior citizens?

Very. It is safe, clean and punctual. The real challenges are walking distances and stairs at stations, which a private vehicle and a gentler pace largely remove.

When is the best time to visit?

Late March to early April for cherry blossom and November for autumn colour are the most popular, and need booking four to six months ahead. May and October are comfortable and less crowded. June is the rainy season.

What happens if something goes wrong in Japan?

The Ninja Helpdesk, a team member based in Japan, is available in Hindi and Gujarati throughout your trip, including late at night.

How much should we budget for shopping and spending?

This varies widely. Ask us when you enquire and we will give you a realistic figure for your family and the places you are visiting.
